“In helping others, I have truly helped myself.”
Savannah Niwa from Acadia Valley, Alberta spreads some Famine cheer, inspiration and love in this great video and blog post.
Hello all!
I wanted to share my little video with everyone to hopefully spread some Famine cheer, inspiration, and the love of my little community. Words cannot begin to explain how much this has truly changed my life.
In coordinating the events, I have learned to be out spoken and lost my shyness of talking to bigger crowds and strangers. It has taught me to share my creativity but morph it in with other peoples ideas and make something even better and most of all, the absolute biggest lesson that I have learned thus far in my life is that in helping others, I have truly helped myself.
And I will not stop there! I want to keep being active in my community and am planning a trip with my class to do a volunteer trip in Brazil. In order to be able to afford the trip we, as a group, are planning a 1950 style dance, community help, and getting active with one of the schools junior high’s special night.
I want to go on the Youth Ambassador trip because I believe that this is the path I am going to follow once I have graduated and that it will help my continue to grow as a person and help plenty of others. I am a very blessed and lucky girl and I want to spread the love that I have been given to someone that needs it.
Thank you
Savannah Niwa
