Where Good Ideas Come From [video]

Ever wonder where good ideas come from? This fun and thought-provoking video is sure to get those creative juices flowing.

World Vision youth are full of good ideas. Whether it’s a fair trade coffee house, a freeze mob at your school or a fundraising activity that involves duct-taping your friend to the wall, you guys kick creative butt. (Check out the Action Blog for more great examples).

As Steven Johnson discusses in the video below, good ideas don’t usually happen in isolation. They happen when people connect and interact. He says that the best “engines of creativity” have been the ones that “created a space where ideas could mingle and swap and create new forms.”

So as you’re thinking about your next big fundraiser or advocacy campaign, get out there and see what other people are doing. Chat with like-minded people. Get out of the house and find your way to a coffee shop or a park.

The CONNECT community is a great place to interact with other youth passionate about global issues. Borrow from what others on CONNECT are doing and be sure to share your own creative campaign ideas! Add them to the comments below, on Facebook or submit an Action Blog.
